Love Better this Valentine's Day
5 easy ways to love better in 2025
1. Love God First
Before you can love others well, you need to prioritize your love for God. Jesus tells us:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” – Matthew 22:37-38
When your heart is full of God’s love, you can pour that love into others. Choose at least one way you want to deepen your relationship with God and do it!
2. Love with Action, Not Just Words
It’s easy to say “I love you,” but true love is shown through action. 1 John 3:18 reminds us:
“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
This Valentine’s Day, instead of just giving gifts, show love in tangible ways:
For spouses/significant others: Prioritize quality time, pray together, and serve one another daily.
For singles: Love your friends and community by being present and available.
For everyone: Find someone in need and meet their need—whether through encouragement, generosity, or simply listening.
3. Love with Forgiveness
Real love isn’t about keeping score; it’s about grace. Ephesians 4:32 says:
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Carrying unforgiveness blocks you from loving fully. In 2025, let go of past hurts, extend grace, and experience the freedom that comes from loving like Jesus.
4. Love by Investing in Others
Jesus’ love wasn’t passive—it was intentional. He invested in His disciples, teaching and walking with them. This year, be intentional about mentoring, discipling, and building others up in faith. If you want to grow in loving others well, consider joining our What is Love? course at Advance the Faith Academy. It’s designed to help you develop a Christ-centered love that impacts relationships, communities, and the world.
5. Love Without Fear
So many people hesitate to love fully because of fear—fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of vulnerability. But Scripture reminds us:
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.” – 1 John 4:18
Loving well means trusting God with your heart and relationships. Step into 2025 with a love that’s bold, fearless, and Christ-centered.
